Livigno, set between the Engadina and the
Alta Valtellina, is an enchanting valley spread over 12 Kms
of territory between two mountain ranges slowly descending
from 3000 mt. to 1.800 mt. of the village, made of a series
of wooden and stone houses. With the close and gracious smaller
village Trepalle, the highest-placed village in Europe, Livigno
is one of the most important and equiped touristic spots of
the Alps. With over 100 comfortable hotels, Livigno offers
its visitors unforgettable holidays in contact with nature
and the alpine traditions all over the year.
The
valley of Livigno is the conjuction point between Europe’s
largest National Parks: the Stelvio and of Switzerland. A
huge green lung, an immense reserve, an unpolluted area, rich
with plants and animals, inhabitated by ibexes, marmots, deers,
chamoises, royal eagles, ossifrages, wood grouses proliferating
through the fields, the woods, may hays, mountains pastures
characterized by all kinds of alpine flowers and plants.
